Upcoming anthology horror film mixes "Creepshow"-style storytelling with "Elm Street"/"Stranger Things" actors and Sin City talent.

"It's Halloween. Everyone's entitled to one good scare". So says Sheriff Brackett to babysitter Laurie Strode in a memorable scene from John Carpenter's 1978 HALLOWEEN. Next October, be prepared for six degrees of scary, as Sin City residents John Lohmann (The 35 Cinema), special effects maestro Nick Benson, and actress Lisa Wilcox (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 & 5) come together for CAMPFIRE: The Movie

Now in pre-production, CAMPFIRE features six scary tales told around....you guessed it...a campfire. A creature stalking the woods. A supernatural entity summoned by repeating her name. A deranged killer with a hook. All these legendary summer canp tales and more will come alive on the big screen next Halloween season, thanks to the talents of Las Vegas locals and a cast of cult-favorite actors.

Horror movies are best when created by fans of the genre. Writer /producer John Lohmann is a longtime admirer of spooky films. He's hosted numerous screenings at downtown's The 35 Cinema (soon to be expanded at a new location), often with stars of the films themselves. His experience in the movie exhibition industry has allowed him to network with a number of influential individuals both behind of and in front of the lens. That's how he recruited Lisa Wilcox to manage his retro-cool movie house....and cast her to star in CAMPFIRE. Learn more about their ongoing collaborations here

Wilcox also has a special bond with CAMPFIRE's Executive Producer Nick Benson. The two worked together on A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and actually share the same birth date. Mr. Benson is one of the owners of CINELOGGIA, a movie prop museum located right here in Las Vegas. A veteran of films like James Cameron's THE ABYSS and franchise-starter TREMORS, the longtime horror enthusiast will supervise CAMPFIRE's special effects, contribute to make-up, and produce its visual effects.

Every scary tale needs spooky music to heighten the suspense. What would JAWS be without that terrifying motif from the opening attack? The score for CAMPFIRE will be created by prolific composer Alexander Taylor. With over fifty TV and film titles to his credit, the Los Angeles resident is best known for his work on SCREAM, QUEEN: My Nightmare On Elm Street. This writer counts himself as one of Taylor's many fans...an autographed copy of the SCREAM, QUEEN soundtrack on vinyl is a prized possession.

One of the fun elements of anthology films is the large cast of characters. So far, over a dozen actors have signed on for major roles in CAMPFIRE. Ira Heiden is best known for A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: Dream Warriors as well as ELVIRA: Mistress of the Dark. Matty Cardarople has appeared in STRANGER THINGS and this summer's breakout hit FREE GUY. Actor Daniel Roebuck has appeared in a number of Rob Zombie horror films including remakes of HALLOWEEN and HALLOWEEN 2. Young Chester Rushing is also a STRANGER THINGS alumnus, and he had a bit role in LOGAN, Hugh Jackman's final "Wolverine" film.

As we told you earlier this fall, Las Vegas has become a hotbed for movie magic. Our gorgeous locations and wealth of resident talent appeal to a wide variety of filmmakers. There are a number of films in pre-production, currently shooting, and going through post-production for future release. One of them is SLAMMER: The Prison Girl Musical, based on a Sin City stage show, with many more in the months ahead.

So be sure to check your local theater or drive-in listings next October for CAMPFIRE. It may be warm near the flames, but you'll still feel a chill down your spine.
